Previously she served as the Business Development Intern under the VP Business Development at The Jim Henson Company, doing administrative work and researching leads for potential third party collaborations for the Jim Henson Creature Shop. The Jim Henson Company is known for creating The Muppets and Sesame Street, and creating animatronic creatures, stand-in puppets, and prosthetics for films such as The Jungle Book, The Hangover, Doctor Dolittle, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, George of the Jungle and Where the Wild Things Are, as well as for musical acts such as Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and Deadmau5.
Previously, Katherine was a entertainment news reporter, writing 11+ articles weekly detailing news about casting, production, release dates, etc. for both MXDWN Movies and MXDWN Television. During that time, she wrote 190+ entertainment news articles and film reviews for the site. In September, she interned with the EVP Worldwide Acquisitions for Paramount Pictures during the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. In February, she attended the 2017 Berlin Film Festival/European Film Market, where she worked under the International Business Editor at The Hollywood Reporter.
Katherine also has worked as an Agent Trainee/Intern for Mavrick Artists Agency, a talent agency in Beverly Hills who represents clients such as Nick Viall (The Bachelor), Tim Reid (Sister, Sister), Tara Reid (American Pie), Beverly Mitchell (7th Heaven), Clayton Snyder (Lizzie McGuire), Mitchel Musso (Hannah Montana) and Jaleel White (Family Matters). While there, she served their theatrical, commercial, youth, and modeling departments. Katherine also participated in the Creative Mind Group program, where she interned at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival in September 2016 with APA (Agency for the Performing Arts).
Katherine finished her postgraduate studies at John Paul the Great University in San Diego, CA , where she received her Masters in Entertainment Business and Producing in Dec '16/Jan '17. While there Katherine was selected as Director/Co-Producer for her Masters Thesis Project: a short film called 'Inya', that follows an elderly woman who is a compulsive hoarder as she reexamines her life after she acquires a one year-old girl. Katherine was also chosen to serve as 'showrunner' for her 'Advanced Development' class, where she led a mock writers room to developing a television series called 'The Happiness Complex', of which she had written the pilot episode.
For her undergraduate degree, Katherine attended Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA in the Silicon Valley, just south of San Francisco, CA. Although she went in as a freshman studying Computer Engineer/Web Design, Katherine graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in English with minors in Communication/Film & Theatre.
